【2024年度総長杯英語プレゼンテーション大会】

２０２４年１２月２１日（土）「未来を切り拓く　総長杯英語プレゼンテーション大会」が開催されました。今回の大会では「Towards a Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive Society（多様性、公平性、包摂性がある社会を創るために）」をメインテーマに、大学教員、付属校教員及び本学の外国人留学生による審査のもとで、6チーム合計14名の付属校生がプレゼンテーションを行いました。本校からは高校２年生４名が出場し、ロイランス恵美莉さん寺田由莉さんペアが”外国人留学生審査員賞”を受賞しました。

審査員ジェニファー・ボリオ先生、出場者のコメントは以下の通りです。

Each pair bravely connected their voice and heart to share their truth in English, and should be proud of their impressive teamwork and dedication to delivering an amazing English presentation. 法政大学総長杯スピーチコンテストに出場した皆さん、心に響く素晴らしいグループスピーチをありがとうございました！それぞれのペアが勇気を持って自分の声と心を結びつけ、英語で自分の思いを共有してくれました。その見事なチームワークと、素晴らしい英語プレゼンテーションを届けるための努力を誇りに思ってください。この大会を成功させるために、全力を尽くしてくれたすべての出場者に心から感謝します。どうかこれからも、皆さんの力で世界をより良いところにするために挑戦を続けてください！

I’m very honored to receive this award! Thank you to Hosei University for giving me an irreplaceable opportunity. I am grateful to have many people who supported us in so many different ways.
First of all, I want to thank our mentors and teachers who helped us preparing our presentation. I also appreciate my family, and most importantly my partner, Yuri to help me work hard to achieve this. Without their support, I wouldn’t be able to make this happen.
Through this experience, I gained skills and knowledge. It was a great opportunity to grow and influenced me positively. I hope I can continue to move forward with what I learnt from this journey.

このような素晴らしい賞を頂くことができとても光栄です。かけがえのない機会を作ってくださった法政大学の皆様、本当にありがとうございました。私たちのために様々な方面でサポートして頂いた方々にも感謝の気持ちで一杯です。
まずは、出場に向け準備を支えてくださったメンターの方々、そして先生方に感謝を伝えたいです。また陰で見守り気遣ってくれた家族、そして何よりも目標に向け共に苦楽を分かち合い、切磋琢磨できたパートナーのゆりの存在は不可欠でした。皆様がいなければ、成し遂げることは出来ませんでした。
この経験を通して多様なスキルや考え方を身につける事ができました。大会参加を通じて、人としても成長する良い機会になり、これからも今回学んだ事を生かし、次に繋げていけるよう努力していきます。

The most significant lesson I gained from this competition was the value of collaboration and perseverance. I doubt I could have achieved as much on my own. This was my first time presenting in English in such a formal setting, and while I initially felt uncertain about my language abilities, we ultimately delivered a presentation we could be proud of. This success was made possible by my partner, Emilie, whose unwavering encouragement and support were invaluable, as well as the mentors and teachers who guided us through the fundamentals of effective presentation.
Throughout the preparation process, our mentors provided invaluable insights on how to craft a presentation that resonates with an audience, emphasizing the importance of designing engaging materials and sourcing relevant information. Their guidance was both educational and transformative, broadening my understanding of effective presentation.
The journey of working collaboratively toward a common goal over a focused period of time, and achieving it, taught me not only the art of delivering a compelling presentation but also the importance of resilience and teamwork. I hope to leverage the experience I gained from this competition in future challenges.

この大会を通じて私が得た教訓は、協力と努力することの大切さでした。私一人ではこれほどの成果を達成することはできなかったと思います。私にとって、この総長杯は正式な場で英語でプレゼンをする初めての経験であり、初めは自分の英語力に不安を感じていました。しかし、最終的には誇りを持てるプレゼンテーションを行うことができました。これは、常に励まし支えてくれたパートナーのロイランスさん、そしてプレゼンテーションの基礎から丁寧に指導してくださったメンターの方々や先生方のおかげです。
準備期間中、メンターの方々からは、聴衆に響くプレゼンテーションを作り上げる方法について貴重な洞察をいただきました。特に、資料のデザイン方法や関連情報の収集について教わったことはとても勉強になり、私のプレゼンテーションに対する理解を広げるものでした。
限られた期間の中でチームとして共通の目標に向かって協力し、それを達成するという経験は、効果的なプレゼンテーションの技術だけでなく、粘り強さとチームワークの重要性を教えてくれました。この大会での経験を今後の挑戦に活かしていきたいと思います。
